Launch Monitor Technology
Used by the master club fitters at the Kingdom at Reynolds Plantation, Launch Monitor Technoloby has set a new standard for golf ball and golf club measurement. Based on Doppler radar technology, Launch Monitor Technology measures the exact 3-dimensional club movement and ball flight, and provides precise data on the ball launch, ball flight and ball landing. Launch Monitor Technology measures the full trajectory of any shot, ranging from short pitches to 400-yard drives and measures the landing position with an accuracy of 1 foot at 100 yards. In addition, Launch Monitor Technology measures actual spin rate of the ball without marking it - with state-of-the-art accuracy. Launch Monitor Technology gives accurate measured data without using any modelling, and displays the actual 3D trajectory in real time.
What Is Custom Fitting?
Custom fitting in the broadest sense is building a club designed to match your individual swing characteristics so that you hit the ball longer and straighter with better control. Custom fitting at the Kingdom at Reynolds Plantation is performed with the MATT (Motion Analysis Technology by TaylorMade) System, a sophisticated club-fitting tool that combines a launch monitor, nine high-speed cameras and a computer to gather vital swing information and statistics. Each participant is then fitted for a complete set of TaylorMade custom-made clubs.
How Does It Work?
During the fitting process, reflective markers are placed on strategic points on your body as well as on the shaft and head of the fitting club. Nine separate high speed synchronized cameras capture the motion of the reflectors and instantaneously produce a three dimensional image of the subject. This 3-D image can be viewed in motion from any angle (from above, below, front, back, or either side) and is used to demonstrate what your swing is doing dynamically. The image can easily be manipulated to provide valuable feedback for you to better understand your swing characteristics. Additionally, data collected from our specialized launch monitor is integrated with the motion capture data.
